The Rename Values step replaces values inside a column, rather than renaming the column itself. Use it to harmonize labels that mean the same thing but are spelled differently across sources — USA, U.S.A. and United States, for example.

Configuration

The step reads the distinct values present in the chosen column and offers them for mapping, so you can see exactly what is there before writing rules.
The step fails if the dataset has no entity or string columns, if no column is selected, if the selected column is not present at that point in the pipeline, or if no renaming rules are defined.
To rename a column, use Rename Columns. To harmonize country names specifically, Validate Countries does it against a canonical country list instead of rules you write by hand.
